De bachelor in de biomedische laboratoriumtechnologie voert autonoom, nauwkeurig, betrouwbaar en kritisch biomedische laboratoriumwerkzaamheden uit op een onderbouwde manier. Hij/zij stelt problemen vast, signaleert ze en draagt bij tot een aanvaardbare oplossing.

De bachelor in de biomedische laboratoriumtechnologie,
a. afstudeerrichting farmaceutische en biologische laboratoriumtechnologie, heeft kennis, inzicht en (technische) vaardigheden om de gepaste methoden en technologieën van het farmaceutisch en bio(techno)logisch werkveld te hanteren. Hij/zij gaat de beperkingen en mogelijkheden hiervan na in wisselende contexten.
b. afstudeerrichting medische laboratoriumtechnologie, heeft kennis, inzicht en (technische) vaardigheden om de gepaste methoden en technologieën van het medisch- diagnostisch werkveld te hanteren. Hij/zij gaat de beperkingen en mogelijkheden hiervan na in wisselende contexten. De PBA MLT voert pagina 2 van 3 diagnostische analyses uit op patiëntenstalen (pre-analytisch, analytisch en post-analytisch).

De bachelor in de biomedische laboratoriumtechnologie werkt actief mee binnen een georganiseerd kwaliteitszorgsysteem in een laboratorium.

De bachelor in de biomedische laboratoriumtechnologie past de deontologische principes van het biomedisch werkveld toe.

De bachelor in de biomedische laboratoriumtechnologie werkt veilig, hygiënisch, duurzaam en milieubewust volgens de wettelijke reglementeringen binnen een laboratoriumcontext.
